The first PA BAR race of the 2012 season (Philadelphia Naval Yard Criterium) has been moved to April 7th by promoter Ron Ruggiero. The BikeReg page (https://www.bikereg.com/Net/15669) for the race is up to date and open as five riders have already registered. Thanks Ron for hosting the event and including races for the women (elite and masters) and juniors.

The 2011 PCA Awards Banquet has been confirmed for January 14th (2012) at the Bear Creek Mountain Resort in Macungie, PA. Once again the event will be sponsored by Morgan Stanley Smith Barney (www.morganstanley.com/fa/bruce.donaghy) and Market Edge (www.mkt-edge.com). The banquet which honors the champions from the PA Road, PA Track, and PA Cross Series will be held from 12 PM to 4 PM. The cost per person will be the same as last year $12 more…

As many of you are aware Mike Miller was recently suspended by USADA for a non negative test at Masters National Track Championships in July of this year. I have personally been involved with Mike during this most difficult time as I support all cyclists in PA/WV per my role as president of the PCA. The PCA received multiple bids for the 2011 PA State Cross Championships and that is a direct reflection of the growth of cyclocross and the quality of races promoters are permitting. As a result the PCA board was able to award the 2011 and 2012 events. The 2011 PA State Cross Championships will be held on December 4th at the Phelps School Cross in Malvern. This season was highlighted, among other things, by the success of the 2011 PA road and track BAR series. The series is more than offering riders top quality events to race their road and track bikes.
