PCA Crit Series Technical Guide
Preface
After the pandemic the PA Road BAR Series was replaced with the PCA Crit Series as the majority of races permitted by USAC in Pennsylvania were criteriums. The PA BAR Series was the original reason the PCA was formed in 2003. Over the years the BAR and now the PCA Crit Series are still the main goal of many rider’s seasons.
Series Eligibility
- All USAC registered clubs are eligible to participate in 2024 PCA Crit Series including teams from outside Pennsylvania.
- Teams must register for the series for riders to earn series points.
- Registration fee is $50 per team and online registration is available @ https://www.bikereg.com/pa-crit-series-registration-drive-2024
Series Categories
- The BAR series is contested by the following categories:
– Junior Boys (9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16 & 17-18)
– Junior Girls (9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16 & 17-18)
– Senior Men 1-2
– Senior Women 1-2
– U23 Men
– Senior Men’s Category 3 / Senior Men’s Category 4
– Senior Women’s Category 3 / Senior Women Category 4
– Master’s Men 35+ / – Master’s Men 45+ / – Master’s Men 55+ & Master’s Men 65+
– Master’s Women 35+ & Master’s Women 50+
- Prior year PCA Crit Series champions may petition the race director to receive free entry to series races, but that offer is at the discretion of the promoter.
Series Points
Series points are awarded as follows:
Senior Men & Women Cat 4, Master’s Men 65+, Master’s Women 35+ and 50+:

Senior Men & Women Cat 3, Master’s Men 35+/45+/55+ and JR’s:

Senior Men and Women Cat 1-2 / U23:

Series Points Eligibility in Mixed Category Races
Series points may be awarded for mixed category races. The highest category of a specific race will be awarded points. For example Cat 4 men and women can earn points in Cat 4 and Cat 4-5 events. Cat 3 men and women can earn points in Cat 3, Cat 3-4 and Cat 3-4-5 races. For Cat 3-4-5 races category 4 riders results will be broken out of the overall results for scoring.
